Philadelphia's biggest road race returns May 4, 2025, as the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run makes its way 10 miles from North Philly to the Navy Yard, with 40,000 runners taking to the streets.
The route slopes downhill heading south, making it one of America's fastest 10-mile courses according to Runner's World. Runners gather between Fisher and Somerville Avenues before starting.
No parking will be permitted on Broad Street on Sunday, May 4, from Olney Avenue to the Navy Yard from 2:00 a.m. until 12 p.m.
There is no parking available in the start area. Participants can park their cars for free in the Sports Complex parking lots (Broad Street and Pattison Avenue) and take the SEPTA Broad Street Line to the start area.

Broad Street Line [B] Service
- The first train leaves NRG Station at 4 am. Both express and local service will run to the starting line. Large crowds are expected. Please be patient as we work to safely accommodate all runners.
- Participants in the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run ride the Broad Street Line [B] to the starting line for free.
- After the race concludes, runners displaying their race bibs will be permitted travel to ride the Broad Street Line [B] for free from the finish line back to the starting line or to any Broad Street Line [B] station until noon.
- Participants must display their official competitor’s race bib number to a SEPTA cashier to gain entry.
Feel free to watch from anywhere along Broad Street - you'll get great views of runners pushing through from start to finish.
