Chester County Library to Celebrate Local Authors on May 18

The Chester County Library will host its annual "Read Local!" celebration featuring local authors and illustrators from Chester County and nearby areas on Sunday, May 18. Various books and genres for adults and children will be highlighted. More than 30 local authors and illustrators will be on hand to greet visitors.

April Nickel, youth services director at the library, told MyChesCo.com that the event will spotlight authors and illustrators who have recently self-published or published through independent publishers. These creatives submitted applications to share their work with the community. 

Nickel said that while some of the featured titles may not meet the library's collection development policy, "Read Local!" connects these creators with the greater public.

The event will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chester County Library, 450 Exton Square Parkway, in Exton. Admission is free; no registration is required. Learn more on the library's website.
