The Delaware beaches are the places to be this summer for entertainment and fun. Below are a few can't-miss events to mark on your calendar, courtesy of Delaware Online:

Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass and Coastal Arts Festival

Browse works from more than 70 artists who will showcase sea glass, jewelry, home decor, wood, metal sculpture, ceramics, photography, and painted works. Bring your own pieces of sea glass to the festival and let experts analyze them to determine their worth. Tickets are $10 per person, per day. Children 12 and younger are free.

When: Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Independence Day at Bethany Beach

Bethany Beach will celebrate Independence Day on Friday, July 4, with a parade downtown and a concert on the bandstand. Fireworks will explode in the sky at dusk. As of Friday, May 16, the schedule of activities for the celebration was not available yet. Visit townofbethanybeach.com for more details to be announced.

Independence Day at Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth's Fourth of July fireworks will occur over the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday, July 5, at dusk. The celebration will begin with The Funsters at the bandstand at 8 p.m. Visit rehobothbeachde.gov for more details.

Poseidon Festival

This event in Bethany Beach honors the sea with several activities downtown and on the beach throughout the weekend. Folks can enjoy live music, mermaids, skimboarding, pirates, and kite-flying. A full schedule of activities is available online.

Running of the Bull

You don't have to head to Spain to experience Starboard's eccentric version of the famous Spanish event in Dewey Beach that features people in bull costumes along with adults running down the street grasping orange crushes in their hands. 

The spectacle typically takes place at 2 p.m., with a special children's event on the Dagsworthy Street beach taking place at 10:30 a.m.
