Philadelphia’s craft beer scene is raising a glass to community impact in a way that brings together local breweries, nonprofit organizations, and even Hollywood royalty.

SixDegrees.org

SixDegrees.org, founded by Philadelphia native Kevin Bacon, has teamed up with six of the city’s most beloved craft breweries to create Six Degrees of Fermentation. It's collaborative beer that honors the spirit of connection and giving back.

The project is the grand finale of a six-month fundraising campaign. During which each brewery partnered with SixDegrees.org to raise funds and awareness for grassroots nonprofits. Now, they’ve come together to craft a beer that embodies their shared commitment to collaboration.

The result? A crisp, dry-hopped Kölsch designed for perfect summer nights. It's available from May 28 through June 30 at Yards Brewing Company, Attic Brewing Co, Evil Genius Beer Company, Human Robot Brewery, Sacred Vice Brewing Company, and Wissahickon Brewing Company.

Six Degrees Launch Event

The official launch event will take place on Wednesday, May 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Yards Brewing Company taproom. Attendees will have a lively evening of connection, craft beer, and community engagement. Guests can mingle with local nonprofit representatives, enjoy trivia and live music. They can even compete in a Kevin Bacon costume contest.

Admission is free, but those who donate $6 or more to SixDegrees.org will receive an exclusive “What’s shakin’ Bacon” sticker. Online registration is required at sixdegreesorg.short.gy/fermentation.

In true Philly fashion, the collaboration doesn’t end with the beer itself. Each brewery will sell a canned version featuring a unique image of Bacon. This will encourage beer lovers to collect the full six-pack.

Those who visit each participating brewery and complete a punch card will have the chance to win two VIP tickets, including a meet-and-greet, for an upcoming Bacon Brothers concert in Philadelphia.

Between May 28 and June 30, Philadelphians can find Six Degrees of Fermentation on tap and in cans at each participating brewery. A portion of the proceeds supports SixDegrees.org’s initiatives. They are focused on youth empowerment, justice, sustainable living environments, and crisis response.
