Main Street will buzz with creativity when the 36th Annual Manayunk Arts Festival returns this summer. The state's biggest outdoor juried art show brings 300 skilled makers and draws 100,000 visitors.

The gates open at 11 a.m. both days: Saturday until 7 p.m. and Sunday until 5 p.m. Visitors won't pay a dime to see stunning works across many forms: paintings that catch the eye, photos that tell stories, hand-shaped ceramics, sparkling jewelry, blown glass, woven textiles, carved wood, and bold sculptures.

On Grape Street, a special tent shines light on 30 fresh faces in art. These newcomers can grow their skills here for three years before stepping into the main show.

"Art has the power to heal, to inspire, and to remind us of the beauty and hope that reside within us," said Bryane Broadie to MyChesCo. The Maryland graphic artist created this year's poster.

Since 1990, the Manayunk Development Corporation has run this show. Hungry visitors can stop at spots like Bar Jawn, Luck's Last Chance, or Hen Solo while browsing art.

Free shuttles will zip guests to and from the showgrounds. Rain won't stop this event: it runs no matter what.

Art fans, buyers, and design pros flock here from across three states. Many artists who first showed their work in the newcomers' tent now stand among the main show's stars.

Watch artists bring their work to life with live demos all weekend. Main Street shops stay open, adding local flavor to the mix.
