Premier Venue Group (PVG) held a grand opening ceremony last month to mark the rebirth of the former Columbia Station into Columbia Grand. The new event venue can accommodate 200 seated guests and 500 people for cocktails and receptions.
Columbia Grand, at 4 Bridge St., is within walking distance of restaurants and overnight accommodations at the heart of the town's historic district.
“The transformation of Columbia Station into Columbia Grand is a powerful example of how honoring our past can create extraordinary opportunities for our future,” said Peter Urscheler, Phoenixville's mayor, in a statement shared with CMW (Conferences & Meetings World) magazine.
PVG officials said they thoughtfully incorporated many of the station's original features, including exposed brick walls and high ceilings, into the design for the new event space. Modern enhancements include climate control, contemporary lighting, and sound systems throughout the space.
A wrap-around veranda can host outdoor ceremonies. Two suites, one of which is housed in a vintage train caboose adjacent to the main building, serve as event prep spaces.
