Chef Gordon Ramsay has turned the spotlight on a Berks County dining establishment in his new show, "Secret Service," on FOX.

The Marvel Ranch in downtown Reading appeared on the Wednesday, June 18, episode of Ramsay's show. Ramsay and a film crew visited Reading earlier this year and came into the breakfast joint.

Marvel Ranch regulars who viewed the episode reacted to WFMZ-TV 69 about having their Reading favorite seen on a national platform.

"It was shocking to see the before of it. And it looked completely different. It looks so much better and more welcoming for sure. He's such a big celebrity to come to our small city," Saara Hi of Reading said. "It's amazing. It was kind of funny to see the employees, how they would interact with each other, how they would fool around with each other. But now, they seem like friendship and community."

Reading Film Office Executive Director Cammie Harris told WFMZ-TV 69 that film and TV shows have a significant economic impact on communities like Reading that have hosted film crews.

Harris said that the film office travels beyond the region, sharing the news that Reading is open for filming.

"I think the more we do that, the more exposure that we, you know, get in these different places, the more films, the bigger films will get here in the area," Harris said.
