The Wildwood Fire Department has opened registration for its summer Fire Cadet Program for kids ages 10-17.
The program runs during the week of Aug. 4, from 9am-12:30pm. It gives kids opportunities to learn lifesaving skills, build confidence, and learn more about the work of firefighters.
It also provides them with a safe and healthy summer activity that could inspire a long-term interest.
The Fire Cadet Program emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and emergency response skills through hands-on learning and demonstrations of firefighting equipment.
Registration is limited. Only the first 40 children who sign up with be able to participate in the fun summer initiative in Wildwood.
Participants must complete and submit a cadet application form and health history form to determine whether or not they're eligible for the Summer Cadet Program at the Wildwood Fire Department.
