Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture) has launched two new Cape May trolley tours delivering new stories and new experiences for guests.
A "Black Legacy in Historic Cape May Trolley Tour" explores the contributions of Cape May's African American community to Cape May's history and heritage. The African American community significantly influenced the cultural, economic, and social development of Cape May City.
During the trolley tour, guests will be immersed in the stories and discover the businesses, churches, homes, and schools that reflect the African American community's presence in Cape May.
Visitors are also invited to encounter historic Cape May's lesser-known but deserving picturesque locations through the "Picture This Selfie Trolley Ride" experience. The tour will transport visitors to three spots where guests will be able to disembark from the trolley and take the time for photo ops. Along the way, knowledgeable, entertaining guides will share interesting anecdotes about Cape May.
Many of these selfie-style trolley tours are scheduled for late afternoon and the approach of the golden hour, also known as the magic hour, that creates the best visual features for photography.
In addition to these two new trolley tour offerings, Cape May MAC will continue to offer visitor-favorite trolley tour experiences, including the "Historic District Trolley Tour." This experience details the evolution of Cape May as a National Historic Landmark. The popular "Mansions by the Sea Trolley Tour: Then & Now," which spotlights the seaside cottages and homes of the 1800s and today, has been expanded to a 60-minute tour experience.
