A cherished North Cape May establishment, Turdo Vineyards & Winery, is on the market for $3.4 million. After nearly three decades of crafting wines, owners Salvatore and Sara Turdo are planning their next chapter.

"It hurts to sell it," Salvatore said to the Philadelphia Business Journal. "But at this point in my life, I'm tired. I'm 73 years old, and I want to enjoy a few more years of just traveling with my wife and those things."

The sale of the 4.73-acre slice of New Jersey wine country would include a wine production facility, tasting room, and a 1,900-square-foot home with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The Turdo name does not transfer with the sale of the property.

Although some may consider it to be small, the winery bottles between 1,200 and 1,600 cases annually. This modest output adheres to traditional European wine production methods.

What began as a small business in 1998 has grown into a respectable and well-operating winey. Today, on a visit to the winery, you can see guests sipping wines on the patio outside. Indoors, French Oak casks age wine next to gleaming steel tanks.

Over the years, Turdo Vineyards & Winery has garnered recognition from prominent media outlets, including The New York Times and The Philadelphia InquirerPhiladelphia Magazine crowned it Best Winery at the Shore, and HGTV also featured the winery on one of its programs.

The new owner of the property has the opportunity to acquire a turnkey winery with potential for expanding sales through wholesale and retail licenses. The current owners only sell their products on-site.

Tim Kerr Sotheby's International Realty, The Chris Clemans Group, is the listing agent for the property.
