Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa plans to renovate a former nightclub space into an 18,000-square-foot live music venue set to open next summer.

In an announcement on Monday, Oct. 6, Borgata shared news about a partnership it is forging with New England entertainment group Big Night for the new venue at the former Premier Nightclub, which closed Aug. 31.

According to Borgata officials, the redesigned venue will have an “immersive design, cutting-edge technology, and flexibility to host performances, special events, and year-round programming,” noted NJ.com.

Boston-based Big Night is the company behind venues such as Big Night Live, The Grand, and Memoire. According to an NJBIZ report, Big Night is known for its high-energy productions and mix of talent covering various genres and generations. Past performers at its venues have included Erykah Badu, Snoop Dogg, the Pixies, Sabrina Carpenter, Burna Boy, and global EDM stars, such as Steve Aoki, Zedd, Diplo, and Shaquille O'Neal (a.k.a. DJ Diesel).

“We're thrilled to bring Big Night to Atlantic City and to be partnering with Borgata, one of the top casino resorts in the U.S.,” Ed Kane, co-founder and principal of Big Night, said in a statement. “This is the beginning of an exciting, long-term collaboration where we'll introduce our expertise in live music, nightlife, and experiential hospitality to one of the most iconic destinations in the country.”

Monday's announcement is the latest development in a series of upgrades at Borgata as the casino group aims to evolve its facilities and offerings.

Borgata said it will share further details about the venue's programming, design, and amenities in the months ahead.
