Tom McCarthy (T-Mac), the Phillies' play-by-play announcer and CBS Sports broadcaster, is using the NFL's “My Cause My Cleats” auction to support three Mercer County, New Jersey, charities.

The beneficiaries of McCarthy's philanthropy are the Mercer Miracle League, Trenton High trainer Poppy Sanderson's Education Outweighs Them All program, and HomeFront NJ in Lawrence.

“I'm on the Miracle League board, so that's an easy one,” McCarthy said to The Trentonian, explaining his charity support decisions. “My daughters both tutor at HomeFront, and I wanted to throw Poppy in there too, because I know he was winding down, and I thought it would be a nice tribute.”

According to The Trentonian, “My Cause My Cleats” asks each participant to put a pair of football cleats into auction. The names of the charities and/or their logos are inscribed on the shoes. Interested parties have until Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, to bid.

Those who want to support McCarthy's causes can submit their bids on the NFL Auction website. The NFL Foundation awards all money raised from the auction to charities identified by the specific person associated with the cleats.

In addition to “My Cause My Cleats,” McCarthy is also hosting the Phillies Charities Holiday Dinner at Citizens Bank. During that event, the Miracle League will get a $40,000 grant from the team after T-Mac nominated it.
