The 24th Annual MGK Turkey Drop, presented by ACME Markets, proved once again that the Philadelphia community knows how to show up with big hearts and generous spirits! On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the MGK team, along with listeners from across the tri-state area, gathered to make a difference for local families ahead of the holidays.

From 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Kimmel Center and 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 12 area ACME Markets, the MGK air staff broadcast live while collecting frozen turkeys, “free turkey” coupons, cash, and checks for CityTeam Philadelphia. It truly was the largest one-day food collection event in Philadelphia, and this year’s turnout was spectacular.

Listeners, local businesses, and longtime partners showed tremendous generosity both in person and online through CityTeam.org/turkeydrop. With help from Dietz & Watson, who assisted in transporting all donated turkeys from ACME locations to CityTeam headquarters, the 2025 Turkey Drop was a seamless success.

The results say it all — 4,187 turkeys collected, which is 527 more than last year! Thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered, or spread the word; hundreds of Philadelphia families had a holiday meal to enjoy this season.

From the MGK family to yours, thank you for being part of another incredible Turkey Drop. Your kindness keeps this Philadelphia tradition going strong year after year!

CityTeam Chester doesn’t just need help during the holidays — they welcome support 365 days a year to keep providing hot meals, fresh groceries, safe shelter, and life-changing programs for families and individuals facing homelessness and poverty in the Greater Delaware Valley. People can give financially through one-time or recurring donations on the CityTeam website, which directly fund meals, shelter beds, clothing, and residential recovery programs for men, women, and children. Volunteers are also essential: individuals, families, churches, and groups can sign up online to serve at meal distributions, Hope Cafe, food pantries, and other outreach events at CityTeam’s Chester locations. For those who want to give in-kind, checking CityTeam’s current needs list ensures donations like hygiene items, diapers, and clothing go exactly where they’re needed most.
