Philadelphia’s Iconic Mummers Parade Named Best Holiday Parade in the Nation by USA TODAY

Philadelphia’s most beloved New Year’s tradition just earned national bragging rights! The Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia Mummers Parade has officially been named the Best Holiday Parade in the United States in USA TODAY’s 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, cementing its legacy as one of the most iconic and colorful celebrations in the nation.

This exciting recognition comes as the Mummers prepare to celebrate their 125th anniversary with a spectacular parade on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Each year, the Mummers fill Broad Street with dazzling costumes, incredible performances, and unforgettable music from the Fancy, Wench, Comic, and String Band divisions. This time, it’s even more special, as Philadelphia’s beloved folk parade marks more than a century of bringing joy, creativity, and community to the city.

The 2026 Mummers Parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall and strut down Broad Street to Washington Avenue, featuring 1 Fancy Club, 10 Wench Brigades, 3 Comic Clubs, and 14 world-famous String Bands. Spectators can grab ticketed seats near Dilworth Plaza, enjoy performances at viewing areas along Broad Street, or catch the action live on WDPN-TV (MeTV2), WFMZ-TV, and streaming platforms.
