The Penn Reads Literacy & Children's Art Project is hosting a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service event titled “Imagine A World…..!” on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This MLK Day event will take place at the University of Penn Libraries, Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center, in the Orrery Pavilion on the sixth floor of the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts, at 3420 Walnut St. in Philadelphia. The entrance is on Locust Walk behind the button sculpture. Adults attending this event should bring a photo ID.
According to WestPhillyLocal.com, young readers ages 3 to 8 are invited to participate in a theatrical storytime experience that will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. with featured storyteller Diane Leslie. They'll also get to create their own book to take home.
Storytellers, librarians, teachers, and library staff will lead children in the activities, with pizza and snacks provided. This event is part of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Symposium on Social Change.
