How do you feel about taking to the roads in Pennsylvania? If you have something to say, PennDOT wants to hear from you.

PennDOT is inviting Pennsylvania residents to take an online survey on traffic safety and driving behaviors. The survey is open through February and takes about five minutes to complete. All responses will remain completely anonymous. You can access the full survey online.

According to a CBS Philadelphia report, the survey is intended to help Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro's administration improve traffic safety and guide grant funding decisions, aligning with about $30 million in annual federal grants for crash prevention statewide. Survey topics include seat belt use, impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and safety for bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorcyclists.

A 2023 survey showed that family influenced many respondents to drive more safely. That sentiment led to a campaign featuring Pennsylvania State Police Troopers delivering the message “Do it for the ones you love” to buckle up.

According to a PennLive report, PennDOT notes 1,127 highway deaths occurred in Pennsylvania in 2024, the second-lowest annual total since 1928. Preliminary data suggests that fewer crash fatalities took place in 2025.
