George Frayne aka Commander Cody is a fast talker and he’s got a lot to say. More than likely you’ve talk/sung along to HOT ROD LINCOLN at least once or a hundred times. I know back in my Guilford College days, we lamented plenty along with the song (BACK TO) SEEDS AND STEMS AGAIN.
The most recent album is performed by a stripped down no frills four piece rock and boogie band and is called LIVE FROM ELECTRIC CITY. It’s filled with swing and twang and that winking humor that has always been part of the Commander’s repertoire.
Offstage, George Frayne is an incredible artist and has exhibited at the MGK ROCK ART SHOW. (disclaimer: I own one of his paintings of Billie Holiday and it’s one of my favorite things in the world). His subject matter includes a lot of musicians and you can check out his artwork at his website.
Give a listen to our chat then check out the album, and hopefully we’ll see the Commander and his Western Airmen come around our way in the next year or so!
