FRIENDS GATHER TO CELEBRATE “CHRISTMAS ON THE BLOCK”
One of Philadelphia’s finest homegrown Christmas songs was released in 1983, The Alan Mann Band’s Christmas On The Block”! On Sunday 12/22 (doors at 3, music 3:30-7 pm) some of Alan’s friends will gather to celebrate it’s 30th Christmas!
Appropriately, the gig will happen at The Legendary Dobbs at 3rd & South Streets!!!
Kenn Kweder, George Manney & Larry Saklad are hosting a 30th anniversary party both to celebrate and will lead one of the biggest singalongs of Alan Mann’s “Christmas On The Block“. The show will include many former members of Alan’s bands and friends from the Philly scene today.
The original Alan Mann video for “Christmas On The Block” was the first independent music video to screen on MTV. Rumor has it this will be filmed for a documentary now being assembled by Attention Films. George & Geo Sound Studio will provide Alan Mann footage from those days in the ’80s projected behind live performances!
Looks to be a great way to kick the holidays into high gear!
