‘Maybe Next Year’ is the name of a movie premiering at the Philadelphia Film Festival that focuses on four Eagles fans leading up to the Super Bowl win in 2017. Director Kyle Thrash spoke to Cyndy Drue after the first of two screenings. The second showing will be this Saturday, October 26 at the Ritz East at 9:30 pm (125 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19106). In addition to seeing our town at its best and worst on the big screen along with diehard fans, you’ll hear the familiar sports-talk radio personalities and our hometown TV stars. The four fans that are featured are all compelling characters. Plus, it’s great to relive that season and see the celebrations at the end.
The 28th annual Philadelphia Film Festival showcases new, unseen work. Many films get picked up to be distributed, others you may never see again. With ‘Maybe Next Year’, here’s hoping for the best.
