102.9 MGK teamed up with Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia for the fifth annual "Gimme Shelter" event in Philadelphia on August 12, 2023.
The event benefitted families in need of affordable housing solutions in the city of Philadelphia. It took place at Habitat for Humanity's new ReStore location on Allegheny Ave.
MGK weekday jocks Steve Vassalotti, Matt Cord, and Andre Gardner broadcasted live on a great day for local radio.
Donors showed up with tools, hardware, electrical supplies, lumber, plumbing and roofing equipment, and appliances. Gimme Shelter also collected monetary donations to support the initiative for families in need.
Listeners who donated also received tickets to MGK Big Gig on September 16, 2023, headlined by ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a commemorative t-shirt.
Promotions Director Kara Lester and the entire MGK staff worked to make the day a huge success for another year.
