The NBA All-Star Weekend just took place this past weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah, home of the Utah Jazz.

As always it was an insanely fun weekend for the league, and I know it was a little extra fun again in part because my 76ers coworker, Christian Cosby was the in-arena host again!

Christian was hardly the only Sixer involved in the festivities over the weekend, though!

76ers’ star center, Joel Embiid, was the first picked starter in the draft by Team LeBron, which was captained by Lebron James, of course.

For a guy that was not originally voted to be a starter in the game to be picked first by either captain says a lot!

In the end, Embiid and Team LeBron fell short to Team Giannis by a score of 184-175.

Although JoJo scored 32 points!

The MVP of the game was Jason Tatum of the Boston Celtics who tallied 55 total points, behind 10 made three-pointers!

Impressive!

As much as it pains me to say that since he is a Celtic.

The MVP of the whole All-Star Weekend, however, turned out to be a 76er after all!

Well, sort of.

He has not officially played a game for the team yet but has played for the team’s G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.

If you do not know who I am talking about yet, it is Mac McClung, who won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest!

Catch him and Christian posing with Mac’s trophy in the featured image!

Not only did he win, but he also put on an all-time performance!

Reggie Miller, the TNT commentator, declared, “Mac McClung has saved the dunk contest!”

It was electric!

McClung scored a perfect score on three out of his four dunks.

The most impressive of which was his final dunk where he did a 540 spin, reverse slam dunk!

Once he did that, it was over!

And he knew it too, judging by his celebration.

With the win, he became the first Sixer player ever to win the contest.

Funnily enough, he accepted the trophy from Dr. J who won the contest in its first year back in 1976.

Although, at the time he was still with the New York Nets as a member of the ABA.

Anyways, congratulations to Mac, and I hope to see you throwing some dunks down at the Wells Fargo Center soon!
