WATCH: Trailer For David Gilmour Concert Film Screening
Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour has announced a September 13 date for the one-night-only screening of his new concert film, David Gilmour: Live in Pompeii.
The movie documents his 2016 show in the historic Italian site, where Pink Floyd also made a performance film back in 1972. Live in Pompeii will screen in theaters worldwide featuring music from a 23-songs show promoting Gilmour’s 2015 album Rattle That Lock along with Pink Floyd favorites such as “Money,” “Shine On You Crazy Diamond,” “Run Like Hell,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Comfortably Numb” with guest David Crosby and more.
There’s talk of a home video release for the film at some point but nothing has yet been announced.
Back in 2015 Gilmour told us that mixing songs from throughout his career, with Pink Floyd and solo, was crucial:
“We’re doing a mixture…The sets are, we have songs from the new album, not all of them, and they’re mixed, interspersed in the two sets we do, the first and the second half. That will evolve as the tour goes on…We do some Pink Floyd ones, and it’s quite a lively show.”
