NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 07: Inductee Steve Howe of Yes performs onstage at the 32nd Annual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony at Barclays Center on April 7, 2017 in New York City. The event will broadcast on HBO Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 8:00 pm ET/PT

The final six dates of the Yestival tour have been canceled due to the death of guitarist Steve Howe‘s son Virgil.

Virgil, 42, passed away on Monday (September 11) of “tragic, unexpected” but unspecified causes. Yes posted a message to fans announcing that shows’ cancellations and ticket refunds. The note stated that “Yes…want to thank all their fans for their support and understanding at this time. Steve Howe and family ask for their privacy to be respected during this difficult time.”

A multi-instrumentalist and singer, Virgil Howe was set to being a UK tour as the drummer with Little Barrie (best known for its theme song for Better Call Saul) on Wednesday (September 13). He played keyboards and sang on Steve Howe’s solo albums The Grand Scheme Of Things and Remedy and had also recorded an instrumental album titled Nexus that’s slated for release in November.

Virgil’s brother Dylan was added to Yes’ lineup as a second drummer for the Yestival dates.
