Elton John Mourns Sudden Loss Of His Mother
Elton John is in mourning and “in shock” after the death of his mother, Sheila Farebrother, on Monday morning (December 4).
John announced her passing by posting a photo of the two on social media with the message, “So sad to say that my mother passed away this morning. I only saw her last Monday and I am in shock. Travel safe Mum. Thank you for everything. I will miss you so much. Love, Elton.”
John and Farebrother had been estranged since mid-2008 after an argument over men she was seeing but reconciled earlier this year after his near-fatal brush with a bacterial infection he contracted during a tour of South America. John revealed their reconciliation on Mother’s Day this year, writing on Instagram, “Dear Mum, Happy Mother’s Day! So happy we are back in touch. Love, Elton xo.”
John resumes his continuing residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on February 9; He’ll be finishing his association with the venue on May 19.
