THROWBACK: Ray and Dave Davies’ Christmas Miracle
Today (June 21) is Ray Davies’ birthday, and while it’s very tempting to come up with a list of the best quotes Ray and his brother Dave have hurled at each other in the press over the years, we’re going to take the high road and look back at a performance back in December 2015 that found the brothers sharing a stage for the first time in decades.
The two infamously feuding brother performed The Kinks’ classic “You Really Got Me” before a crowd at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on December 18, 2015, where Dave was performing on his solo tour. To say the crowd was into the performance is quite the understatement.
Yes, these moments of peace between the Davies brothers are incredibly rare, but when they happen, you can’t help but get those fuzzy feelings.
