We’re sure the rumor mill will go crazy with this one, but simply seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea and former guitarist John Frusciante out together is just the type of positive news we all could use.

Flea and Frusciante were seen together at L.A.’s Staples Center watching a boxing match over the weekend, which is the first time in about 11 years the two were seen in public together

Frusciante, of course, left RHCP in 2009.  While he’s kept a very low profile, he’s still actively creating new music including five solo albums and various collaborations.

As mentioned, we’re sure plenty of fans will start clamoring for Frusciante to rejoin the Chili Peppers, but frankly, it’s just nice to see former bandmates getting along and not at each other’s throats or feuding in the press.

Of course, we wouldn’t be upset if there was more to this outing than meets the eye, but we won’t get our hopes up yet.
