Motley Crue is Officially Back, Literally Blow Up ‘Cessation of Touring Agreement’
It’s official: Motley Crue is back, and that pesky “Cessation of Touring Agreement” they signed before their “Final Tour” in 2014-15 is no more. Well, since we’re talking about the Crue, that contract was destroyed in epic fashion in the video below.
The band’s official website features a lengthy statement about their return and cites the popularity of the Netflix film adaptation of their memoir The Dirt and gaining a new generation of fans for being a big catalyst for their return.
“Vince, Nikki, Mick and Tommy didn’t come together again until 2018 to participate in the making of ‘The Dirt’ movie, which unexpectedly brought them closer together again including seeing them head back into the recording studio after having gone in their own directions for several years. The fuse was lit…Moreover, in the six months following the release of ‘The Dirt,’ Mötley Crüe has celebrated a meteoric rise of almost 350% increase in streams of their music across all streaming platforms. However, most of the new fans have never seen any of the legendary live shows that Crüeheads have relished for close to 4 decades,” reads a portion of the statement.
The band then invited their fans based in the United States to text “MOTLEYCRUEISBACK” to 855-580-CRUE (2783) or sign up for email alerts at Motley.com “to follow further developments and get breaking Motley Crue news first.”
So, it seems as though all of those big tour rumors involving Def Leppard and Poison weren’t rumors after all, and we’re all just bracing ourselves for upcoming tour dates.
