Brian May Shares He Recently Had a Heart Attack, Three Stents Implanted
Brian May shared via social media he had a heart attack which resulted in three stents being implanted.
In the video below, May talked about his recent gardening accident where he tore his glute muscles, but he was still dealing with a significant amount of pain. As May says in the video, the pain wasn’t from his glute muscles but from a severely compressed sciatic nerve as discovered from an MRI.
During that, however, May suffered a heart attack, which he described as “…about 40 minutes of pain in the chest, and tightness, and that feeling in the arms, and sweating.” Doctors discovered three of his arteries has significant congestion and was given the option of surgery or implanting three stents. May opted for the latter.
All things considered, May remained in high spirits while delivering this news in the video saying, “I’m incredibly grateful that I now have a life to lead again. I was actually very near death because of this, but the pain that I had was from something completely different, it’s funny how things work…I’m good, there’s no need to panic. Please don’t send me sympathies and such, cause I’m good, just send me congratulations if you’d like.”
