Sharon Osbourne has never been one to hold back, and she certainly didn’t in a new interview about the upcoming biopic about the earlier years of her relationship and marriage to Ozzy Osbourne.

Sharon, Ozzy and Jack Osbourne talked about the film with Rolling Stone. Jack’s production company is behind the project, and he says the film will cover Ozzy and Sharon’s relationship “…from 1979 to 1996.”

“It’s not like, ‘rock & roll, crazy, and now I’m a granddad.’ It’s so much more than that,” said Sharon. However, if you’re thinking the film will be anything like the uber-successful, but tame Bohemian Rhapsody, think again.

“Our film will be a lot more real. We don’t want it to be squeaky, shiny clean and all of that,” said Sharon. “We’re not making it for kids. It’s an adult movie for adults.”

Of course, ever the shrewd businesswoman, Sharon understands why Bohemian Rhapsody aimed for a PG-13 rating.

“I get why they did that, because it was for a younger generation. It was squeaky clean. It was, ‘Those songs will live forever,’ and it turned a whole generation onto Queen’s music that had never heard before,” said Sharon. “So with that, it was phenomenal. But I don’t think it was a great movie. They changed the timing [of the story] and everything in it. That’s why it was, like, made ‘nice’ and that’s what made it a Hallmark movie.”

Talk of Ozzy and Sharon’s biopic first surfaced in July 2018 in an interview Sharon gave to VarietyAt the time, Sharon said of the film, “It’s definitely going to be a tearjerker. It’s not going to be a sex-and-drugs movie at all. Ozzy is so much more than that. I would hate to be a cliché.”
