Jon Bon Jovi Wishes Richie Sambora ‘Had His Life Together And Was Still In The Band’
Jon Bon Jovi was very frank when talking about Richie Sambora in a new interview.
JBJ was asked in an interview with Rock Antenne (embedded below) whether he wished he had done anything differently during his decades-long career. He responded at around the 10:00 mark, “Very few things – honest to God, very few things. Some things happened that were the catalyst for why other good things happened, you know? There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wish that Richie had his life together and was still in the band. Yet, in a weird way, it’s because of his inability to get it together anymore that we went on and wrote This House Is Not For Sale, and that was a very strong record.”
Bon Jovi continued, “Maybe we would’ve gotten lazy. Maybe…I don’t know where we would’ve gone, but through all of that pain and heartbreak came this [new record, ‘Bon Jovi 2020’.] Jokingly, the only say I’ve regretted in my career was not having met Frank Sinatra. That’s the only thing I regret…I wasn’t ready for it at the time. Now, what I would’ve given to have met him would’ve been awesome.”
Bon Jovi’s new album, Bon Jovi 2020, is available now and can be streamed/download here.
