Fred Durst to Host Halloween-Themed Event in Philadelphia
Fred Durst will host a Halloween-themed event in Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 22. Freddy D’s House Party of Horrors will take place aboard the Moshulu on Columbus Blvd.
The Limp Bizkit frontman promised haunts and hot dog flavored water, an homage to the band’s 2000 album “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.”
Durst and Limp Bizkit have been unfortunately prone to cancelations for the past two years. They canceled the remainder of their 2021 summer tour after just three shows due to public health safety concerns. This summer, the band abruptly canceled its European tour when Durst experienced some concerns about personal medical tests. They performed at Lollapalooza in July 2021 in Chicago, IL.
Durst has continued to entrench himself in the world of horror in recent years. He directed The Fanatic, a horror film released in 2019 about a deranged fan who stalks a Hollywood star. He also recently landed a role in I Saw the TV Glow, a new horror film from A24 about a tv show that causes its teenage fans to question reality after it gets canceled.
Publicity surrounding Limp Bizkit heightened when Netflix released its three-part documentary Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99 in August. The band’s performance at the disastrous festival is often linked to the destruction and chaos that took place within an uncontrollable crowd. Durst has defended his role in the excessive riots since the festival took place, and the multitude of other factors that derailed the event support his side of the story.
Limp Bizkit also released its sixth studio album “Still Sucks” in October 2021.
Guests can enjoy the nighttime scenery of the Delaware River along with a night of nu metal from the deck of the Moshulu, “the world’s oldest and largest square rigged sailing vessel still afloat.”
The event is sponsored by Sad & Boujee. Tickets are on sale now.
