Steven Tyler Illness Leads to Aerosmith Canceling Vegas Residency Shows
Aerosmith is experiencing some hiccups toward the end of their latest Las Vegas residency. The band was forced to cancel two gigs due to Steven Tyler dealing with an illness.
On December 2, Aerosmith issued the following statement:
“It is with great disappointment that we are forced to cancel tonight’s show in Las Vegas due to Steven feeling unwell and unable to perform. He is expected to make a full recovery for Monday night’s Las Vegas show. We sincerely apologize for the last-minute notice.”
However, Tyler did not recover in time for the aforementioned Monday show, which led to another statement. The statement reads:
“Unfortunately tomorrow’s show, Monday December 5th, in Las Vegas has to be canceled. Steven Tyler said ‘on the advice of my doctor, I’m taking more time to rest… there is nowhere we’d rather be than on stage surrounded by the greatest fans in the world.’ We sincerely apologize.”
As of publishing, there haven’t been any further details about the extent of Tyler’s illness. Aerosmith has two more residency dates on December 8 and 11. So far, those shows will go on as scheduled.
We send our well-wishes to the Demon of Screamin’ and hope to see him return to the stage with Aerosmith soon.
