Kansas Thrilled Over Use of ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ by AEW
Kansas is experiencing a unique moment in pop culture thanks to All Elite Wrestling (AEW.)
The wrestling promotion boasts a number of popular members on its roster. Among the most popular is the trio called The Elite, which features Kenny Omega and Matt and Nick Jackson, who are the tag team known as The Young Bucks. Recently, The Elite adopted the Kansas hit “Carry On Wayward Son” as their entrance theme. Singer Ronnie Platt is a big fan of the song’s use.
Platt said in an appearance on the Paltrocast, “That’s the original that they’re using,. I saw that video where they’re walking out in the stadium, and all the people are going nuts. Oh my God, that was so cool.”

He added, “That’s just good for the band. That’s good promo and really introducing Kansas, even though the kids might not know who the band is or haven’t heard the song before. It really is initiating young people to that music. So that’s all good. We call that job security.”
Kansas appears to have significant job security in 2023 with the announcement of the band’s 50th anniversary tour. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 27. Complete ticket details can be found at KansasBand.com. A full list of tour dates is below.
