Green Day New Album News; Hear Their New Song
Green Day new album news is always good, and we have some. The beloved pop-punk trio – Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – has announced a new album. Saviors will drop on Jan. 19, 2024 via Reprise/Warner Records. In advance of the set, the band has released a brand new song, “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” and a music video to go along with it. Listen to the song and watch the music video at the bottom of this post.
“The American Dream Is Killing Me” was one of the final songs that the guys of Green Day wrote and recorded for Saviors, according to a release. “As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,'” Armstrong said of the track in a statement. He also described it as “A look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people — in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”
Green Day New Album News
Green Day recorded the new album in London and Los Angeles with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo. Cavallo worked with the band on their iconic 1994 release Dookie and also on their 2004 album American Idiot.
As for the music video for “The American Dream Is Killing Me,” the guys went very vintage and spooky. The video is a film noir-inspired black and white music video featuring Green Day in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Green Day filmed the video with directors Brendan Walter and Ryan Baxley in Los Angeles.
In addition, Green Day will be performing this Thursday (Oct. 26) as part of Amazon Music Live’s concert series. They’ll also appear on Nov. 19 at the Twisted Tea Grey Cup Halftime Show for the 110th Grey Cup at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario. A press release promises much more Green Day news ahead, too. So, stay tuned. For more on Green Day, go here. As we previously reported, Green Day played a surprise show in Las Vegas last week.
