…And The Waiting Begins For Those Ozzy Farewell Dates
Waiting for Ozzy Osbourne to announce his farewell tour dates? You can apparently stand down until next year, apparently.
Osbourne has revealed that he’ll be announcing a full farewell tour sometime in the New Year but hasn’t specified when. We do already know that the final trek will begin on May 5 in Mexico and that he’ll be playing in South America and Europe into July.
Osbourne and his band — including a returned Zakk Wylde on guitar, longtime bassist Blasko and drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman, who also worked with Black Sabbath — plan to be on the road for two years and cover the entire planet.
Osbourne has, however, said he might “do some shows here and there” even after the retirement. Ozzy tells us that the details are up to his wife and manager Sharon Osbourne and that he’s clued in on a need-to-know basis:
“My wife is good at, like, telling me partial information, but what I know (is) I’m not hanging ’em up for awhile yet…It can’t say being in Black Sabbath or being Ozzy Osbourne solo thing is a job. It’s a passion. It’s a love — the biggest, greatest love affair of my life.”
