Black Keys Show In L.A. Gets Chaotic Thanks To Bogus Tickets
The Black Keys played the first show in four and a half years last night, but many of their fans were denied entry to the show. According to CBS Los Angeles, lots of fake tickets were sold to the band’s sold-out show at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. They reported that “scores” of fans purchased fake tickets on “third-party” sites like StubHub, Vivid Seats and SeatGeek.
The legit tickets, sold through Ticketmaster, were apparently mobile-only and were not transferable. CBS LA reports that some sellers posted screengrabs of their tickets on the resale sites, and the people who bought them were denied entry. The promoter apparently made it clear in the messaging that the tickets were not transferrable, but clearly lots of people didn’t get the message.
The Black Keys have not yet issued a response to the controversy.
