NYC Loft Where Ramones Played Early Gig Up For Sale
A massive piece of Ramones history is up for sale, but it has a hefty price tag.
Per The New York Post, the East Village loft of Arturo Vega, the graphic artist who created the Ramones’ iconic seal logo, has hit the market. Located at 6 E. 2nd St, the loft is 6,420-sq. ft. and was the site of one of the Ramones’ earliest gigs in 1975.
The New York Post notes Vega was the band’s “creative director, lighting director and historian” and lived at the loft for about four decades until his death in 2013.
The loft is near the intersection of Bowery and East Second Street, “which was renamed Joey Ramone Place and is now the most stolen street sign in the city.”
So, what’s the asking price of this three-floor loft? $7.25 million. Can you say, “Gabba Gabba…Holy Sh*t?!”
