Roger Taylor is Putting a 20 Ft. Freddie Mercury Statue in His Garden
Roger Taylor is honoring his late friend/bandmate Freddie Mercury in a very bold way.
The Queen drummer told U.K.’s The Sun that he’s currently redoing his large garden at his 18th century home in Surrey, England and will be erecting a 20 ft. statue of Mercury. The statue, itself, was already in existence and was used in part to promote the Queen musical We Will Rock You.
Taylor said, “It was in a warehouse, costing money, so I said, ‘Why don’t they just put it on a lorry and bring it here, and we’ll put it in the garden?'”

Taylor added, “I also thought it would be very funny to have the statue there and I think Freddie would have found it hilarious.”
Honestly, if any of us had access to a large Freddie Mercury statue, wouldn’t you want to do something fun with it? Having it as the focal part of a garden sounds amazing! Hopefully, Taylor will share photos once the statue is installed.
