More About Our Designated Hitters
Cyndy Drue
Cyndy Drue grew up outside Philadelphia in Worcester, Pa listening to the “boss jocks” on WFIL. She had a radio show at Centenary College in New Jersey, her first job at WSAN in Allentown, and eventually landed at her dream station, WMMR from 1983-1996. One of her favorite perks of the job is getting to interview the artists. But if only she hadn’t turned down Bono’s dinner invitation back in 1980….She loves playing all the classic rock on WMGK Saturdays 11 am-4 pm. Cyndy writes a blog on WMGK.com as Event Reporter. To find out more about her, check out her website www.cyndydrue.com.
Paul Kelly
Paul was born and raised here in Philadelphia. Concerts he’s been to include LIVE AID at JFK, tons of Spectrum and Vet Stadium shows—Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, and Guns ‘N Roses. He’s a workout nut that loves classic rock. Broad Street Run, Rock’Roll Half Marathon, and the Philly Marathon are all events he’s run…and continues to keep racking up the road miles…..just don’t tell him he can’t do it. Been on in the air in Atlantic City, at WZXL. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at ROCK 107…and Poughkeepsie NY at 101.5 WPDH. Ecstatic to be on the air in his hometown after growing up (well, he hasn’t grown up yet) on Philadelphia radio listening to radio legends—John Debella, Debbi Calton, and Andre Gardner. His family has been Eagles season ticket holders back to the Franklin Field days…and bleeds Eagles Green. E-A-G-L-E-S!!!!
Sean Burke
Sean Burke is a fairly new DJ to crack the mic, but not new to radio. Sean began his career with WMMR and has spent the last nine years at WMGK. In his role as Promotion Director, he helps organize and plan all of MGK’s contests and events, as well as assisting with planning WMGK on-air programming. Sean was born and raised on Classic Rock, starting with his first job, cleaning vinyl. When not on-air or at an MGK function, he is frequently attending Classic Rock concerts, and keeping updated on Rock News. He can be heard on Saturday nights and occasional fill-ins.
Angel Donato
Hi, I’m Angel Donato! I’ve been fortunate to spend my broadcasting career in Philadelphia where I was born and raised! I’m a proud Alum of Temple University…Go Owls!! As a kid, my dream was to go into the Entertainment industry after my mom took me to NYC to see the Broadway Musical Annie! I started an internship at 98.1, in my early teens, in the Promotions and Programming dept which eventually led to cracking the mic for the very first time! They paid me in CDs and at 16 I got my first check! I’ve been up and down the Philly Radio dial: B101 Philly, 98.1 WOGL, 92.5 WXTU, Y100, MAX 95.7, 95.7 BEN FM and now so proud to be at 102.9 WMGK!
Danny Ocean
Danny Ocean was born and raised in Havertown PA. He joined MGK’s weekend staff in August of 2021. His 37 year on-air radio programming career has taken him from New York to San Francisco and from Boston to Miami, but he always calls Philadelphia home. He previously spent time on the air at Philly stations including B101, Q-102 and 98.1 WOGL. He is a passionate classic rock music fan who counts Live Aid amongst the more than 200 concerts he has attended nationwide over the last four decades. His favorites included Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Genesis, Journey, Van Halen and The Eagles. Danny is also a “Ride OR Die” Philly sports fan and loves being on MGK working alongside our iconic air staff and meeting our MGK listeners at our annual events including the MGK’s Big Gig, Brew Blast and Turkey Drop.
