Classic Rock 102.9 MGK & Habitat For Humanity Philadelphia team up with housing help for families in need of affordable housing solutions.
On Saturday August 17th, from 11am – 3pm, join MGK at the Habitat For Humanity Philadelphia ReStore .Drop off new and gently used power tools, hardware, and construction materials . All donated items go to the Habitat For Humanity Philadelphia ReStore . Habitat uses 100% of ReStore profits to help build and repair homes in Philadelphia. MGK’s John DeBella, Debbi Calton, Andre Gardner, and Tony Harris will be broadcasting live and greeting and thanking you for your donation.
Enjoy free refreshments, free tickets to MGK’s Heavy Hitter with Santana and the Doobie Brothers, and live performances from School of Rock Philadelphia.
What’s Accepted:
Tools: hand or power tools, in good working condition with all parts, cords, batteries
Hardware: door & cabinet knobs, hinges, locks, fasteners
Electrical: fixtures, parts, supplies
Lumber: dimensional (6’ or longer), sheet (1/2 sheet or more), free of rot, nails, screws
Plumbing: toilets, vanities, shower enclosures. Must be clean & in usable condition
Roofing: unopened, non-damaged bundles, non-expired adhesive, unused gutters
Doors: interior, exterior, screen, security. No broken glass or damaged wood. Remove doorknobs & bag to sell separately
Windows: wood or vinyl, new construction or retrofit. NO metal or single pane, no broken glass or damaged wood.
Appliances: Refrigerators, ranges, range hoods, washing machines, dryers, furnaces, kitchen appliances. Must be less than 8 years old, clean and in working condition, slight scratch/dent okay. Must have all parts/accessories.
Furniture: Overall excellent condition. Upholstery must be clean, free of stains, not worn, torn or damaged

$25 – buys a weatherization kit to keep a door sealed and draft free; keeps home energy efficient and lowers utility bills for homeowners
$50 – buys the painting supplies to repaint a rebuilt front porch; contributes to the revitalization of a home, block, and neighborhood
$100 – buys three panels of yard fencing; provides a safe place for kids to be kids
$250 – rebuilds a homeowner’s basement stairs and installs a handrail; improves structural stability, safety, and accessibility
$500 – provides a foreclosure prevention workshop for future homeowners as part of a broader menu of financial literacy classes; ensures success and longevity in homes
$1,000 – buys a washer and dryer; allows a family to do laundry while making dinner or doing homework in the comfort of their own home
