‘The Last Jedi’ Is Going To Be Full Of Birthday Boy Mark Hamill
For those who aren’t obsessing over every little detail that comes out about ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ this new film is going to be very Luke-centric.
As you’re probably aware if you saw The Force Awakens, Luke had zero lines. NONE. Birthday Boy Mark Hamill (September 25) will get a ton of screen time this time around, and we’re more than excited, considering the loss of a major character in the previous film.
Judging by the teaser trailer, we hear Luke telling Rey (Daisy Ridley) to just breathe, and then reach out, which seems to be Luke teaching Rey to use the force. Which if anyone can teach her, it would be Luke – but we wonder how hard it was to convince him to teach her, considering the fact that the “story” we know, is that Ben, AKA Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) “went bad” after training with Luke.
Piecing together the information that we have seen so far between trailers and read in interviews, as well as behind-the-scenes information, we know that the film will be very Luke focused, with Rey learning with him at the helm.
While theories are flying all over the internet, who’s to say that we’ll know if it has anything to do with the Red Kyber Crystal (Star Wars “Wookieepedia” says they are “Force-attuned crystals that grew in nature and were found on scattered planets across the galaxy. They were used by the Jedi and the Sith in the construction of their lightsabers,”) and if the Jedi will actually end like Luke says (doubt it – if Rey is training). There’s also the still-questioned curiosity of who Rey’s parents are.
Either way, we’ll get to see the birthday boy Mark Hamill in action on December 15, 2017.
Amy Cooper is one with the force and the force is with her.
