Richie Sambora Talks Bon Jovi’s Rock Hall Nod
Richie Sambora is happy about the opportunity to reunite with Bon Jovi for the group’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction next year.
Sambora left the group abruptly during 2013, but he tells us that he’ll be ready to rock with Bon Jovi on April 14 in Cleveland:
“Yeah, why not? I was there for 31 years and we sold 150 million records or something and we put a lot of asses in seats in stadiums around the world, made a lot of people happy. So, yeah, I’m showing up for that. I’m showing up for the fans and all that…It’s a joyous occasion… Everybody should have a smile on their face and smile in their heart and, like I said, it should be a celebration of what we did.”
Sambora was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame with Jon Bon Jovi during 2009, and he’s also happy about the Rock Hall honor:
“It’s great to be recognized for anything you do. It’s fabulous to be in line with the greats and your heroes that you grew up listening to and emulating…[1.00ish] When you put me in line with the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan and the Beatles and everyone else that’s there, it’s a big honor. It’s nice to be recognized in that way.”
Sambora currently works in a duo with his fellow guitarist and girlfriend Orianthi; They’re releasing a new EP, Making History, on Friday (December 15), the same day Sambora releases the holiday-themed single “One Night Of Peace.”
