Classic Rock Songs We Love To Hate
Some songs unite us because they’re universally beloved, but sometimes songs unite us because we all can’t stand them. Thirty-three years ago, one of those songs was released, and we’ve all been complaining about it ever since.
The song in question, of course, is the infamous Starship track “We Built This City.”
Naturally, there are other songs that we all can agree aren’t very great. Here’s just a small list of examples.
Starship – “We Built This City”
Simply Googling this song will result in an obscene amount of think-pieces about how it’s the worst song ever or whether it’s the worst song ever.
Paul McCartney – “Wonderful Christmastime”
It doesn’t matter that Sir Paul is a legend, this song somehow makes the happiest people go full Scrooge during the holidays.
Anything from Gary Cherone’s Tenure with Van Halen
Literally the only thing that can unite DLR fans and Van Hagar fans is how much they despise Van Halen III.
The Beach Boys – “Kokomo”
The only thing worse than this song is Cocktail, the film for which this song was written.

Billy Joel – “We Didn’t Start the Fire”
Other than providing history teachers with the basis of a unique research project, this song can be literally set on fire.
Heart – “All I Want to Do Is Make Love to You”
This song’s plot twist is enough to make M. Night Shyamalan violently ill.
Anything from KISS’ Music From “The Elder”
Remember how KISS fans were furious over the 1979 disco-influenced album Dynasty? If only they knew what was in store with 1981’s Music From “The Elder”!
