You’ll Never Believe How Many Calories ‘The Mountain’ From ‘Game of Thrones’ Eats a Day
Actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays The Mountain on Game of Thrones has revealed his daily eating habits and we can hardly even believe them.
The actor, who stands at 6-foot-9 and weighs more than 400 pounds, is not only a literal giant on the show, but is also currently the world’s strongest man.
“I have been working out every day to prepare for the competition,” the actor and bodybuilder told Page Six at the show’s Season 8 premiere. “I can lift 1,000 pounds, and I eat 10,000 calories a day. I have to eat every two hours to maintain myself.”
His wife Kelsey Henson, who is a petite 5-foot-2, revealed that their grocery trips are pretty intense.
“He eats a lot,” she said. “If we go to the supermarket, we need a truck to get out of there. But that’s OK — he can pull a truck with his bare hands.”
The actor has been competing in the World’s Strongest Man since 2011 and won the title in 2018. But his role on Game of Thrones has been a bright spot in his career.
“I had a great time on ‘Game of Thrones,’ ” he added. “I have a lot of offers for other acting work, but I am currently focused on a strongman competition in England. I am flying there — but I can’t fit my hips or my legs in an economy seat, so I have to fly business.”
