Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Tour Expected in 2020
Remember how Bruce Springsteen said he and the E Street Band will tour again? It sounds like that tour will be happening sooner than later.
Springsteen recently told Italian newspaper Repubblica that, “We will go on tour next year. I’ll record with the E Street Band in the autumn and when we are done, we’ll go on tour.”
From that quote alone, it sounds like The Boss won’t be touring in support of his upcoming solo LP, Western Stars, which comes out June 14. However, anything could happen, perhaps some one-off performances. Maybe Springsteen will hit the late night talk show circuit. We’ll just have to wait and see.
This update on the E Street Band tour follows Springsteen’s initial comments from a Netflix event in May where he sat down for an interview with Martin Scorsese. Per Variety, Scorsese asked Springsteen where inspiration comes from when writing new music, and that’s when he revealed the following:
…It’s like I’ve spent about seven years without writing anything for the band. I couldn’t write anything for the band. And I said, ‘Well, of course … you’ll never be able to do that again!’…And then about a month or so ago, I wrote almost an album’s worth of material for the band. And it came out of just… I mean, I know where it came from, but at the same time, it just came out of almost nowhere. And it was good, you know… It makes you so happy. You go, ‘F—, I’m not f—ed, all right? There’ll be another tour!”
