FLASHBACK: Faces Rock Hall Induction Performance of ‘Stay With Me”
Ron Wood, who celebrates his birthday today (June 1), is perhaps best known for his tenure in The Rolling Stones, but let’s go back to one boisterous performance from The Faces.
The Faces were part of the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction class along with Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donovan, The Crickets and many others. Among all the inductees that year, The Faces getting the nod, frankly, was long overdue thanks to classics like “Stay With Me.”
While it wasn’t a full reunion due to Rod Stewart falling ill and the passing of Steve Marriott, Wood delivered a blistering guitar performance along with Kenny Jones and the late Ian McLagan, who were also perfection. Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall more than came through on filling in for Stewart.
The Rock Hall induction ceremonies are known for their killer performances, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint.
