Lori Loughlin And Husband Plead Guilty In College Bribery Scandal
Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli have agreed to plead guilty in their college admission scandal, according to CBS Boston. The Full House star will plead guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud while Giannulli will plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and honest services wire and mail fraud.
Loughlin agreed to two months in prison, a $150,000 fine, 250 hours of community service, and two years of probation. Her conviction is much harsher than Felicity Huffman’s; she was sentenced to two weeks in prison. Loughlin’s husband’s punishment is slightly rougher; Mossimo agreed to five months in prison, 250 hours of community service, and a $250,000 fine.
Gossip site TMZ also explains that this is a complete 180 for the pair who were previously fighting the charges. They explain the change of heart, saying, “They were facing multiple felonies — the feds kept adding charges the longer they resisted — and if convicted on all counts could have served more than 40 years each behind bars.”
The outlet also adds that due to coronavirus, there is a chance that the couple will try to ask the judge for house arrest. To recap, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli paid $500,000 to get their daughters into USC. They also faked photos to make it look like the girls were rowers.
