LeBron James Makes his Return to Broad Street Tomorrow
Tomorrow night, one of the greatest basketball players of all time – arguably the greatest player of all time – makes his return to Broad Street.
LeBron James and the visiting Los Angeles Lakers are set to make the team’s only appearance in Philadelphia tomorrow as the Lakers take on the 76ers at 7 p.m. on December 9th at the Wells Fargo Center.
I am always so stoked whenever LeBron comes to play in Philly because it is always so exciting and there is a different kind of buzz in the building.
It is honestly insane to see someone that good at basketball play in person.
He is one of the most lethal offensive weapons the game has ever seen, ranking top ten in both assists and points scored of all-time.
By the end of the season, he will hold the record for the most points ever scored in a career.
The record has long been held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and many thought his number would never be touched, but James is under 1,000 points from securing the record for himself.
It is hard to believe this is currently LeBron’s 20th season in the NBA!
Like, how is that possible?
He came into the league straight out of high school as an 18-year-old, which means he has spent more time in the NBA than out of it in his entire life.
Unfortunately, the reality is that he is getting up there in age and we do not quite know how many seasons he has left in him, so that’s why I try not to take his yearly trips to Philly for granted. We don’t know when it’ll be his last time playing here.
Funnily enough, the person LeBron has been compared to since the day he came into the league, Michael Jordan, played his last game ever right here in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center back in 2003!
Take a look at the photo above of LeBron checking into the game against the Sixers, right where I do my public addressing, back when he was still with the Cavaliers in 2018!
As for the game itself, the Sixers could really use a win coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Luckily, the team got James Harden back on Monday and he looked solid in his return from injury.
The Lakers themselves have also been struggling all season, so that bodes well for the Sixers.
In the end, I do think the 76ers will get back in the win column tomorrow night, but I guess we’ll all have to tune in tomorrow to find out!
