Dave Grohl Statue Now Exists in Washington D.C.
Dave Grohl has been immortalized in a unique way.
A life-sized mixed-media sculpture of the Foo Fighters frontman was unveiled on Tuesday to commemorate the opening of The Atlantis in Washington, D.C. The Atlantis is a close replica of the famous 9:30 Club, which Grohl frequented in his youth to see bands like Fugazi and Bad Brains perform live. He would later play on that same stage with own bands: first with Scream, then Nirvana, and then the Foos.

As for the statue honoring Dave Grohl, it was created by French artist Bernard Pras in a bricolage style out of a variety of materials. Take a look at it in the clip below. It might not bear a precise resemblance to Grohl, but it certainly captures his spirit.

Billboard notes that the revamped club will host a series of underplays with this year with artists who are more often seen in arenas, including shows from Joan Jett, Parliament Funkadelic and Barenaked Ladies.
