A Real Life Chubbs Peterson Has Hand Bitten Off by Alligator
“A damned alligator bit my hand off!” That’s why Carl Weathers’ character Chubbs Peterson was told he couldn’t play on the PGA tour anymore.
Eventually everything becomes reality. A man in Florida had his hand bitten off by an alligator on a golf course. “A damned alligator bit my hand off” is what that guy will be saying when someone eventually asks what happened to your hand?
The man was fishing in a pond on the golf course when the alligator “attacked”. Our fisherman was trying to get the fish off his hook, the gator chomped down, and took the hand clean off. The victim was airlifted to an area hospital. No word yet on if they are able to or tried to reattach the mans hand.
There have been many movies where a character lost a hand, but the top 2 (in this writer’s humble opinion) are as follows:
1. Chubbs Peterson in Happy Gilmore (played by Carl Weathers) – It’s a running joke throughout Happy Gilmore. His replacement hand is such a pathetically carved wooden hand. After meeting Chubbs for the first time Adam Sandler’s character accidentally hits the hand sending it flying into a parking lot. Chubbs tells him, “Don’t worry about that, made of wood, real sturdy.” It is promptly crushed by a dump truck tire. Chubbs gets his hand back, but the next time you see it, it’s been crudely glued back together.
2. Tugg Speedman in Tropic Thunder (played by Ben Stiller) – A ridiculous spoof on war movies. The real life actors are playing fictional actors that are filming a war movie. They just don’t know they’re walking into a vicious gang’s territory while “filming”. In the open of the movie they’re filming this epic ending rescue scene. Speedman has his hands blown off saving his team members from a grenade (in real life, amazing heroics shown by military members.) The conversation following between Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.’s characters is absolutely hilarious.

Ben Stiller was born on November 30, 1965, in New York City to comedians and actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. His parents frequently took him on the sets of their appearances, including The Mike Douglas Show when he was a kid. Stiller’s Early Life and Career
In the late ’70s, Stiller performed with the New York City troupe NYC’s First All Children’s Theater. As a teenager, Stiller dabbled in music and was even the drummer of the post-punk band Capital Punishment. The band released the studio album Roadkill in 1982. Stiller briefly enrolled as a film student at the University of California before leaving school to move back to NYC. In 1986, Stiller was cast in the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of John Guare’s The House of Blue Leaves.
After Stiller created a parody of Martin Scorsese’s The Color of Money with a 10-minute short titled The Hustler of Money, his work got the attention of Saturday Night Live, which aired it in 1987. Two years later, SNL offered Stiller a spot as a writer. However, since the comedy sketch show didn’t want him to make more short films, he left after four episodes. Despite things not working out long-term at SNL, Stiller had his own show titled The Ben Stiller Show, which went from MTV to Fox to Comedy Central. Among the principal writers on the show were Stiller and Judd Apatow, with the show featuring the ensemble cast of Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, Andy Dick, and Bob Odenkirk.
